Everything I do and create is focused on how to magnify each other’s light. If you have been following me for a while you know my art is a love letter to the women who made me and saved me. I wouldn’t be here without them
Kitty Party is about the community, THIS COMMUNITY that has brought me so much color, joy, and LIFE to me. And part of this platform is to also create space to rise together.
That’s why I’m so excited to share a collaboration with an organization near and dear to my heart - The South Asian Network (SAN). SAN is a community-rooted resource serving, supporting, and advocating for South Asians. One of SAN’s principles around mental health is decolonizing the field, recognizing the Western influence on our understanding of “self-care”. But as a brown person, there is no self-care without community-care.
As part of AAPI Heritage and Mental Health Awareness Month, we are releasing, Watering Your Kitty Party - a reminder of the importance of community to our well-being and that together, we can thrive. Proceeds from the sales of this shirt will go to SAN and their efforts in the community.
